Hi! My name is Sarah, and I am a college senior with double majors in Marketing and Data Science and a minor in Digital Art and Design. I have been drawn to the arts ever since I was very young and frequently had a crayon or some other drawing instrument in my hand. Starting at age seven, I expanded my horizons in the realm of art by visiting many museums and taking art classes. I have worked with many mediums, including oil, watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, graphite, colored pencil, and pastel (chalk, pan, and oil), just to name a few. Aside from focusing on my other academic interests, I received an art scholarship and completed an art major in high school. At that time, I also took some art classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology and received the Gold Medal for Excellence in Art at my high school graduation. In addition, I won the prestigious Scholastic Gold Key Art Award in 2019, and my artwork was displayed for over two months at the annual exhibition held at The Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
While I am pursuing something other than art for my professional career, my love and appreciation for creativity and imagination in a visual form is long-lasting. Art is a powerful tool for communication and expression. Viewing other artists' works is inspiring, not only because it encourages thoughts about the message the artist wants to convey, but can also provoke unique, personal emotions in viewers. I seek out opportunities to view new, different artworks whenever possible. I enjoy learning how various artists express themselves artistically and want to use my blog to share those experiences with others that have a similar passion.
